- Securing Hyper-V (with the MS Virtualisation User Group)
Focus: with the rising popularity of virtualization, it is time to start thinking about how you secure your virtual environment. During this presentation, best practices for securing a virtual environment based on Microsoft’s Hyper-V are discussed, both from the angle of the Hyper-V host as from the angle of the guests. Further it will be shown how you can use Authorization Manager (AzMan) to provide role-based access control for Hyper-V, separating host administrators from guest administrators and precisely delegating control to them, which will also be shown using System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SC VMM).

We would like to show that it shouldn't be too difficult to gather information.
It's not about hacking, but making audience aware what lives in security and that there is more than only patching operating systems...

As part of the Microsoft Identity and Access solutions portfolio, Microsoft Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) in Windows Server 2008 helps safeguard digital information from unauthorized use—both online and offline, inside and outside of the firewall. In conjunction with AD RMS–enabled applications, AD RMS augments an organization's security strategy by protecting information through persistent usage policies. These policies remain with the information—whether documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or e-mail messages—no matter where it goes or how it is stored.

On Tuesday 23 september 2008 Winsec organised an event on ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services).
More and more Identity & Access Management crosses the borders of the company, because of the increasing need of interaction between companies, partners, customers and endusers, …
One of the ways to provide in this need is using federation.
In an practical event we introduced you to ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services).
After a general introduction and an overview, we demonstrated ADFS.
This sessie was not solely targeted to IT Pro’s, but also to developer professionals.
Within AFDS the application side has an important impact, for example using claims-aware applications and AZMan (Authorization Manager).
In the last part of the session, we focussed on the application side.

On Tuesday 20 May 2008 Winsec organised an event on Windows 2008 Security – PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).

Abstract:
Windows Server 2008 introduced some new key features in Microsoft’s PKI offering. In this session we will go through the new developments such as crypto next generation, OCSP, management features. Certificate Lifecycle Manager (CLM) is used by a lot of customer to manage the Microsoft PKI. We will explore how you can use CLM with Microsoft PKI.
